Today is finally the day we have been waiting for.
Well for those of use who are sick and tired of this election cycle at least.
The candidates are probably glad that election day is finally here as well, but they are most likely happy because they don’t have to campaign until when ever the next election cycle. (Four years for who ever wins the President of the United States, Six for whoever wins a United States Senate Seat, two years for whoever wins a seat in the United States House of Representatives, and whatever the term is for any local offices)
I’m happy because I won’t have to hear any more attack ads. Though I haven’t really heard any this election cycle anyway. Really it seems like those I have heard were from Hillary Clinton and the opponent for the local Congressional Seat. (Anna Throne-Holst) Not surprisingly those two are Democrats.
I did hear an Attack ad for the incumbent for the local Congressional Seat who is a Republican, though he also ran ads that weren’t attack ads.
Well Anyway I’m just glad that it’s Election Day and all of that will end.
Also up for grabs was a seat in the United States Senate. Oddly while I have heard an ad for the Incumbent (Charles “Chuck” Schumer), I hadn’t heard any ads for his challenger. Heck, I don’t even know who his challenger was. Did he even have a challenger?
Yes he had a challenger. A woman named Wendy Long. I never heard of her, though it doesn’t matter really since she’ll probably end up losing. I mean New York is basically a blue state, were Democrats always seem to win. Or at least they seem to win the races for Governor, and United States Senators, and most of the United States House of Representatives Districts. Also New York elects the Democratic Nominee for President.
The last time a Republican from New York won a seat in the United States Senate, either Class One or Class Three was Al D’Amato in 1980. Mr. D’Amato served Three terms and who lost to in 1998 to Mr Schumer.
I said it once and I’ll say it again. I’m glad it is over!
